Synths, guitars and electroacoustic manipulations describe a dark and convoluted sonic blanket of shifting scale. Quickly changing psychological shades ripple and shift like the storms. Rhythms and melodies coalesce from vapor and disappear quickly while binaural synth pulses tickle the ears. The compositions are designed to fit together into two cohesive movements for side a and side b but also stand alone as vignettes. THEATH / MANNING are concerned here with creating an audible love letter to the liver twisting ideas being proposed by theoretical physics. Abstraction feels to be a very fitting mode to describe what physicists are theorizing about the universe we live in with it’s absurd and precarious nature.
Like other works by THEATH / MANNING; “Abstract Hymns” attempts to describe a reality that is foreign to what we can perceive with our limited senses, but with all the ambiguity that comes with our human experience.

WRITTEN AND RECORDED 2021 IN SAN FRANCISCO CA AND BOLIVIA BY THEATH / MANNING. Inspired by the work of Roger Penrose, Sabine Hossenfelder, Juan Maldacena, Leonard Suskind, Matt O'Dowd, Becky Smethurst, and many others.
